私たちは、「日本国民の情報リテラシーを上げることで、長引く低成長から脱却。未来への希望があふれる国をつくる。」をビジョンに掲げ、活動しています。
「ルネサンス」の由来は、14世紀にイタリアで始まった「文化の再生・復興」運動から。当時、疫病の大流行や飢饉。百年戦争などの戦乱で人口は激減。社会全体が危機的な状況に置かれる中、人々は生と死について深く考え、いかに生きるべきかを強く意識するようになったといいます。
そこで彼らが手本にしたのが、ギリシアとローマの優れた古典文化でした。その運動は大きなうねりとなってヨーロッパ全土に広がり、より優れた中心的価値観の誕生とともに、新しい時代を切り開いていったのです。これというのは、年代や場所、起きている事象は違えど、まさに今の日本と重なる状況ではないでしょうか。
長引くデフレ、迷走する政治、少子高齢化、深刻ないじめ問題、過労死、過疎化、企業の不正や無差別殺人など…高度経済成長以降、明確な中心的価値観を見失った日本は、いつしか暗いムードに覆われ、長い停滞から抜け出せずにいます。もはやこれまでの延長線上で、同じような価値観・行動を繰り返していては修復できない状態です。
令和という新たな時代を迎えた日本を、再び明るく輝かせたい。30年、50年、100年先…子供や孫の世代が、誇りを持って生きられる日本を遺したい。「ルネサンス」という本誌の名前には、 そんな私たちの「再生・復興」への願いが込められています。
「ルネサンス」では、感情論や根拠のない主観に偏ることなく、客観的なデータを用い。さらには、世界各国の歴史や政治・経済についての成功事例など、明確な裏付けのある情報をお届けします。
